The Chester County coroner announced Thursday that a 6-year-old Honey Brook boy died Wednesday in a farming accident.

The unidentified child was pronounced dead around 1 p.m. at Paoli Hospital. The cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries and the manner was ruled accidental.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers responded to the farm on North Birdell Road on Wednesday around 9:15 a.m. Police said that the accident involved the boy and two horse-drawn hay carts.

Police said the victim was positioned between the two moving carts and became pinned as the carts passed each other. The victim, police said, was alert and conscious and was transported to Paoli Hospital.

Physicians at the hospital immediately determined that the boy had multiple serious internal injuries and the victim was immediately taken to the operating room. During the operation it was determined that the victim had suffered extensive internal injuries.

According to police, the boy went into cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.
