On Thursday, Dec. 18, Wayland rescue crews were dispatched to the scene of an injury in Wayland Township.

According to Wayland Deputy Fire Chief Dan Miller, the victim was a seven-year-old boy who was accidentally run over by a tractor.

Miller said the boy was transported to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids with non-life-threatening injuries, including cuts and bruises and a hairline fracture of the pelvis.

“He is a very lucky boy,” Miller said.

The Michigan State Police and Gun Lake Tribal Police also assisted.
