A Houston girl was killed last week in Centerville after she was pinned under an all-terrain vehicle, authorities said.

According to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to a home on Private Road 1270 around 3 p.m. Oct. 13. An 11-year-old girl had been visiting her uncle’s farmland with family and was riding an ATV on the property. Authorities say she was thrown from her seat to the ground, and the vehicle overturned and crushed her. Despite CPR, the girl died in an ambulance en route to an area hospital.
