Three children were injured when the car they were riding in crashed into a farm tractor in Clark County. Sheriff Gregory Herrick tells WAOW NewsLine Nine that the tractor did not yield at a stop sign.
The crash happened at 6pm Tuesday at the intersection of Hickory Road and Sandhill Avenue near Dorchester. The car with the children ages 3, 6 and 8 was southbound on Sandhill Avenue when the tractor, driven by 20-year-old Aaron Leiby and pulling a chopper box, pulled in front of it and the 24-year-old mother, Karla Albarran, was unable to stop in time.
“All occupants of the vehicle had incapacitating injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle. Everyone in the vehicle was transported to the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield,” he said.
Leiby was not hurt. Albarrran was not wearing a seat belt and the six-year-old was not properly restrained in a child safety seat.
