An 11-year-old boy has died after being pinned beneath a 1,200-pound hay bale on a Drumore Township farm in southern Lancaster County, LancasterOnline reports.

The website says the incident occurred in the 1800 block of Susquehannock Drive shortly before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The boy was reportedly in a barn loosening hay to feed farm animals when a 1,200-pound bale fell about five feet, striking him from behind and pinning him beneath.

The child reportedly died of multiple traumatic injuries and mechanical asphyxia, and his name had not been released as of Tuesday, the website reports.

The death comes one day after another boy was injured after becoming struck in a piece of machinery at a farm in Upper Leacock Township, Lancaster County.
